I’ve also just launched two new strategic marketing products – just in time for September! (Summer flew by fast, didn’t it?) These are audio programs with a transcript and workbook.

The two biggest issues real estate agents (and people, in general) seem to have with marketing is that they try to target way too many people and and they don’t have a meaningful way to differentiate themselves from other real estate agents. These two programs address those issues.

Once you have a clear understanding of how to narrow your focus and target clients who are right for you AND you identify what makes you unique, special, or different from other agents, marketing becomes a lot easier.

1) How to Generate Lifelong Clients – This program will help you narrow your focus from “anyone in my city and the five surrounding counties” to a very specific niche that’s not only manageable and affordable to reach, but who will value your services. I discuss how to identify what the characteristics of your ideal clients are – those people who are a pleasure to do business with – and why you should turn away those tire-kickers and energy draining clients that make your job tedious and unprofitable.

2) Differentiate Your Services – This program is designed to help you identify what strengths, talents, and passions make you uniquely qualified to help your prospects and clients. I talk about how to define your personal brand as well as how to analyze what your competitors are doing so you can differentiate yourself meaningfully from them in your prospect and clients’ eyes.

I’ve got two more products in the works, which should be launched soon: one on referral marketing and another on creating a lead-generating website, so look for those in the next few weeks.

Over the last few months, I’ve gotten a number of requests for some type of step-by-step marketing plan guide for real estate agents. For those who’ve asked (and anyone else interested), I’ve been hard at work putting together a 40+ page guide which I’ll be launching (free of charge!) next week. I’ve spent the weekend putting the finishing touches on the draft and will be handing it over to my editor for one last proofing session this week, so look for it next week.

Also coming next week, this site will be getting a face lift. I’ve also been doing a bunch of behind the scenes stuff already – like I’ve recently upgraded the site to WordPress 2.5 (which took some getting used to but I like it quite a bit now) and updated the real estate marketing articles section.

1. The new name is shorter and is a .com
2. We weren’t sure if we could use the term “Realtor” in our domain name since, I believe, it is still a licensed trademark of the National Association of Realtors. I know there are/have been court cases trying to cancel the trademark (like attorney David Berry) because the term is widely used to refer to any real estate but I don’t think they’ve succeeded yet. So to avoid any major legal headaches down the road, it seemed easier just to change the name.

The old domain CoachingForRealtors.net still points here no longer points here as of 8/25/06, so I hope this doesn’t cause too much confusion.
